Hi! My name is Annie Maldonado and I am a special education teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten LEAP program at Redondo Elementary School and your child’s teacher! I am a graduate of Florida International University and a strong believer in Applied Behavior Analysis and research-based strategies and interventions. Working with families of students with disabilities is one of my passions and teaching children my calling. One of my philosophies is, as Albert Einstein stated, that “You never fail until you stop trying”.
LEAP stands for Learning Experiences An Alternative Program for Preschoolers and Parents. This is an inclusive setting for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, and their peers of typical development. In the LEAP program we teach typically developing peers to facilitate the social and language skills of children with autism.
Welcome to my classroom site! Here you will find important and time-sensitive information related to class activities and announcements. I have also included valuable information about developmental milestones, helpful resources, and strategies and techniques used in our program. You will also find interesting information and hints on what to teach your child. This site is also educator friendly. I will share ideas so that I may collaborate with other educators . Happy browsing!
